Elfriede van Rooy

Qualifications

B.Sc. Physiotherapy (University of Stellenbosch) 1996

Vision

I want to help other people and be involved in the community. Making a difference, no matter how small.  It is extremely satisfying to help a patient on the road to recovery, to see how they improve.

Favourite Physiotherapy Word

“Did you do your exercises?” It helps the patient take responsibility for their own wellbeing.  Recovery is always a team effort!

I enjoy

I enjoy visiting good friends. I also love spending time by the ocean, it is my happy place.

Bucket List

Taking a tour to Israel, travel to Europe with my family, and to discover places in South Africa I haven’t been able to see yet.

Hobbies

I enjoy reading, music and when I get the chance, sleeping. Our 4 boys have been keeping me busy for the last 20 years.

Alicia Prins

Qualifications

BSc Physiotherapy at the University of the Western Cape, 2015.

Diploma in Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy (CPT1) 2022

I studied physiotherapy because I love to help others and by being a physiotherapist, I get to do what I love every single day.

Vision

My vision is to provide the best possible care for my patients. I want to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

Favourite Physiotherapy Word

My favourite physiotherapy word is “home exercise program”, as continuation of rehabilitation is so important. I believe that patients should always be provided with a home exercise program to continue with care.

I enjoy

I enjoy spending my free time outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Bucket List

My Bucket List includes completing the Fish River Canyon, the Otter Trail, and the Whale Trail within the next couple of years. I am a big outdoor enthusiast, and I am always ready for the next adventure.

Hobbies

My hobbies include hiking, photography, health, and fitness.

Suné Jordaan

Qualifications

B Physiotherapy (cum laude)

University of Pretoria 2022

Vision

My vision is to be the best version of myself every day, and learn from the mistakes I make to better myself, to be the best possible therapist I can be for my patients.

Favourite Physiotherapy Word

My favourite physio word is “movement is medicine/motion is lotion”. I love motivating my patients to move- whether it is walking, standing up from your desk or stretching, as our bodies were not made to be in the same position for long periods of time.

Bucket List

My bucket list is to see the world, skydive, hot air balloon in Turkey and Scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef.

Hobbies

My hobbies include spending time outdoors, sewing- I enjoy making my own clothing, playing guitar, ukulele and piano, and cooking/baking.

Vision

To take each day as an opportunity to better yourself and make a difference in other peoples lives.

Favourite Physiotherapy Word

Self-Rehabilitation. I truly believe that patients see the most results when they engage in rehabilitation by themselves. That is why it is important to educate your patients on self-management and partaking in their home exercise programs.

Bucket List

To travel overseas with my girlfriend. I want to see the world with her and create stories to tell.

Walking my dogs and taking them to different dog parks.

Reading and obtaining new skills.
